Woodgate - What's To Decide?

The greatest club in the north-east ... or the Acid Rain capital of Western Europe?

Woodgate went to the Riverside at the weekend and saw their MFI shed, then moved on to his former club Newcastle to see the second biggest stadium in the country.

But it is the pull of playing for the team he supported as a child that has the 26-year old in two minds.

But with an injury record of playing only 14 games in two years has many supporters fearing what we actually know already - he doesn't play that many games!

Boro's defensive problems were highlighted on Monday when the Smogs slumped to a 4-0 home defeat by Portsmouth.

Gareth Southgate: 'Hopefully he hasn't had the television on while he's thinking about it. But we should know something within the next 24 hours.'

The deal with Real Madrid is for a year-long lone.

The England defender signed for Real from Newcastle in a £13.4m deal in August 2004.
