'If It's Football, It's Vital'

You can't fool the fans

Yet again we hear the mention of star players being in danger of getting bid for. 'don't worry though because it would take 'silly money' to get them'.

Basically though, who cares?

The talk doesn't fill me with confidence, it actually dreads me to think that the constant mention is designed to draw out a bid by keeping the subject in the news, this actually alerts clubs who may have forgotten or turned a blind eye. Some media outlets have even listed what they think a player can be sold for.

Id like to think us NUFC fans are a knowledgeable bunch but plainly realistic as well. We know that a massive bid is impossible for any club in the world to turn down as demonstrated by Man Utd's sale of Ronaldo a few year back for £80 million. What is possible though is for a club to keep stum. say nowt and what happens, happens. That's life.

The lack of trust some of us had or have will always play it's part in future transfer windows, nowt we can do about that now unless the club makes a statement of intent. Keeping all our stars and adding to them.

Newcastle United has the 3rd largest league ground in England, potentially we should be right up there challenging, season after season not feeding the other clubs who's fortunes have changed by the drop of a billionaires hat. If we keep advertising our trump cards then what chance have we got in this game? plus will the paying public stay calm during it all?

I bet on the latter.
