The BowburnMag Charity Fun Day.

The BowburnMag Charity Fun Day.

Stephen Thompson or BowburnMag as we all knew him on our forum or blogs before that, passed away last December as we all know. His time spent entertaining us with his stories or anecdotes is rewarded by the sheer amount of people who turned out for the event in his memory, the first of many i hope.

Some of the members of our forum turned up to take part in a football tournament of which we must all agree that everyone was a winner. The results didn't matter but what did is that we all played with the right attitude and spirit whilst remembering why we were there.

Hopefully we get greater numbers in the future to maybe have 2 teams take part, it doesn't matter if you are fit, fat or unable. Being there is credit in itself. Photos and videos of the day will follow in due course but the lasting memory i will take away from this is that BBM served a purpose in life that he probably wasn't aware of and that was to get people together. We all gathered in his memory and others on the back of what shock his death brought. Proving that life should be lived to the full, let bygones be bygones and all that.

Gone but never forgotten.
