Stop the press

A day can't go by without one of our players being 'linked' with another club.

Where they get their stories from is anyone's guess although we know that 99.9% of them are made up to try and gauge a reaction from the club or just a wish list for the journalist in question's favourite team.

What better way to get your own team to sniff around a player then to unsettle them via a non-story.unless rival clubs are handing dodgy brown envelopes around to tap players up this way? Mmm interesting one that.

Just touching on the subject of player sales. We're under no pressure to sell but may do if an obscene amount gets downwind of Ashley or Derek's nose for the paper folding stuff. Demba Ba with his advertised clause thanks to the worst culprit (Harry Redknapp) of tapping players up (allegedly) may be the likeliest casualty in the war of the Summer transfer window but in all honesty if he wants to go and earn himself a little pay day of around £2 million for the honour then he should be the easiest one to replace.

Gone are the days where we get held to ransom and gone are the days where the media have a clue about what is really going on. We'll find out in due course on what the real story is here but in the meantime, stop the press.
