Not meaning to be a party pooper, and not jealousy, but is he really all he is cracked up to be? He is really qick, and very skillful, but dont you want a goal scorer? We Pompey are also chasing him, and I think you will win that race, but if you look at his record, despite all his undoubted talent he has only managed to score an average of 1 goal every three to four matches, which equates to 12 / 13 goals a premiership season - 11million for 12 goals? OI WAKEY MATE IF HE SINGED FOR U LOT U WOULD'T COMPLAIN WOULD YA AND THEIR'S MORE TO HIS GAME THAN JUST PACE I MEAN LOOK AT ETO WHEN HE WAS AT REAL MADRID HE COULD'T EVEN GET A GAME AND THEN HE WENT TO BARCELONA AND HE WAS VOTED THE 3RD BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD SO YA NEVER NO SHREW BIT OF BUISNESS I SAY AND IM SURE MANY TOON FANS WOULD AGREE

I agree, I would not complain if he joined Pompey (which he wont), AND PROVED ME WRONG by scoring 20 plus goals, but.... And I agree there is more to his game than pace which is why I said he is quick AND REALLY SKILFULL, but all that flair has to equate to goals. You sign a striker to get goals, and while he is incredibly talented he has not as yet shown a prolific streak in front of goal. The trouble we have is we cant afford another like lua lua and benjani, who are skilfull and entertaining, but who do not put the ball away regularly unless we have someone who will get the tap ins etc, which we dont have. We need someone even if they have less flair, who can put the ball inthe back of the net.

wakey, fair opinion.. but NO. he will be too much for defences and yes he will be scoring. no doubt about it. ofcourse hes comin to the toon, pompey over newcastle? No brainer really?!.. the cheek of hoodini trying to swipe him under our noses. grr. he wont be pulling that out of his hat! He'll be doing back flips in the black & white shirt very soon lol :)))
