Good News For Souness?

Perhaps the one piece of good news for manager Graeme Souness today is the fact his midfielder, Emre, is sure to miss a handful of internationals for his country following the infamous 'Battle Of Istanbul'.

FIFA are taking a hard line in the wake of a terrible tunnel scrap after the recent World Cup play-off in which Turkey lost to Switzerland. The result means Emre will not be involved in the World Cup, and he can also count on missing a few internationals prior to it.

Three players - Emre, Alpay, and Switzerland's Benjamin Huggel - plus Switzerland’s physio Stephan Meyer and Turkey’s assistant manager Mehmet Ozdilek, all swung their handbags.
