Ive been quick to condemn in the past, so i'll reverse the trend and put my hands together. Well done. A round of applause.
We've got one player in whilst hopefully keeping what we have.
If im sitting here in just under 13 and a half days with the same feelings of optimism then it will have been a very good transfer window indeed.
The problem for most of us as fans is that we want to know everything about everything in regards to our club and when we witness decisions that make no logical sense, not to mention the bigger name player sales, then the impulse is to want an explanation. None has been forthcoming until recently.
The playing side as it is now is showing very good promise to be a force within the next 2 or 3 years with the right levels of talent added to it. The first 11 in particular is currently rated 6th in England with arguably the potential of higher. Again, it's the ambition to add to this that determines whether we're a 21 game wonder or the real deal.
Being a Geordie supporting my home town club isn't a chore as it comes naturally, the same as breathing. You cut off the air supply (The fans) and within a short period of time, you'll die. A sense of air supply for us is ambition. We need something to look forward to or feed our passion as there's no better feeling anywhere than a home crowd in full voice spurring on our heroes.
We want that, we hope the regime want that. Signings like we've made recently underline an optimism that they share our vision. Let's hope there's no sting in the tail.
