'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Charlton Get Their Man

Glenn Roeder confirmed 'every player has his price', at Newcastle or anywhere else. And his patience paid of when he got the asking price for Faye.

The Senegalese player wanted a move South, but Roeder was prepared to sit out the long battle with Charlton for a figure he could use himself in the transfer market as he searches for a striker (or two).

Glenn Roeder: 'He hasn't given me any problems whatsoever, but I just felt that with the midfielders we have at the club, it was best not to stand in his way with him being offered the chance of more regular football.

'He was at our game with Villarreal at the weekend, and before he went down to London I wished him all the best for when the transfer went through.

'I hope he enjoys a good career at Charlton, though obviously not in the two games against us in the new season!'

Over rated player. Get's stuck in but can't pass or score. Glad we (Pompey) sold him too.

He was among the weakest players of our squad. While it's good to be trimming away the dead wood, we really do need to start bringing new players in. Our squad is woefully thin in areas, no use at all if we're going to be competing both domestically and abroad.
