'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Ambition, No Surprise.

We recognise the signs and the interviews are confusing. We don't even know for sure, who does the wheeling and dealing but one thing we are certain of is that the club has no ambition.

A confusing deal to bring a striker in 'collapses' for debatable reasons, then we find out we don't want a striker after all. Strange. If you went to the shop for some eggs and the box you had in your hands contained cracked shells, surely you'd find an alternative brand?

A bad comparison i know but the general feeling is there. We either need one or we don't.

The same logic, or lack of, has followed us around since the Summer of 2007, when Ashley took over. Forgetting the reasons behind the buy-out and the following relegation, not mentioning either, the financial problems we faced, but focusing now on an improved bank balance, we must surely be in a position to spend on the areas we need now? The accounts will be released in the spring and will show a big turnaround from previous years. If they don't then there's some mismanagement somewhere plus the money we could raise from the obscene removal of the ground name from an area which is and will always be, St James' Park. We know the club just want to advertise 'that brand' though. So that's another lie.

The main point out of all this ramble is that we find ourselves in a competitive position, we're 3 points off a guaranteed European place, a prime hotspot to advertise a brand overseas i may add,so buying the players we need if we can get them makes more sense than ever.

We know where we are light. We need a couple of defenders,we've needed a striker for about 3 seasons, we need a top quality right winger. That little lot could be bought for under 35 million. Forget wages as the amount we've saved or will save from the Summer will more than compensate.

Again though, we all have our views but unfortunately the club's purse holders can't see past the folding paper stuff, a club of this size and support deserves better. It's a crying shame that our owner doesn't understand ambition, in fact, he wouldn't know it if it woke him during the night, tied him to the bed, lit matches under his toes, tortured him to an inch of his life and smacked him on the arse.

Definition of Ambition -

A strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.

Desire and determination to achieve success.
