Are Newcastle Big Enough?

... the new Newcastle boss fears the World Cup Golden Shoe winner will have bigger fish to fry, and the UEFA Cup may not be the bait he wants.

Europe is now very much a tempter, but Klose is eyeing the Champions League.

Roeder: 'Miroslav Klose is a top-drawer player, the leading scorer at the World Cup finals. I think I will say what the chairman says, that I'm not ruling anyone in or out.

'Klose could possibly be looking for a Champions League club after winning the Golden Shoe.We perhaps don't fit his remit if he were to move. But you can't help but admire his ability.'

The UEFA Cup has what 6 more rounds of qualifing before Newcastle enter the competition proper. Klose would have been looking for Champions League prior to the World Cup and no you are not big enough.

@ TeddyLyon: We're seeded for the last qualifying round before the first round proper. We could be drawn against Gretna. Chortle. @ shearer: Typing in caps does not make you big and clever. Berbatov is a very good player, though I don't know how he'll adapt to the English game - another Sergei Rebrov? I guess we shall see. Providing we keep our best players fit for more than three weeks at a time we're on a par with Tottenham, fighting out for 5th or 6th place. I can't see either team breaking the top-four cartel.

He will come - Klose will be attracted by the size and the fans of newcastle.
