Elliott At Leeds

Elliott At Leeds

Eliott, who has had two spells at Newcastle, turned down a 12-month contract at St James' Park. He came through the ranks and was given his opportunity by ex-Toon manager Ossie Ardiles, before joining Bolton Wanderers. He broke a leg very soon after, and the Trotters never saw the best of him.

Sir Bobby Robson brought him back to Tyneside.

If Elliott departs that leaves us with one left-back and one right-back in the entire squad. Now, I'm no expert, but I'd say that's not entirely ideal. I hope we're looking for a versatile full-back; there were plenty of them on form at the World Cup that we could pick up for under £3 million.

thank god he's gone - he was always making mistakes that cost newcastle - now lets Heitinga or Zebina

Show me a newcastle defender that didnt make mistakes that cost us over the last few years they have all had their moments maybe due to the fact that the whole defence has no disipline and no natural leader maybe that has been rectified for a season or so with the aquisition of Moore who hopefully can pass on his skills to young Taylor and Bramble.

Vital Pre-Match - Newcastle v Crystal Palace

A draw against Liverpool was certainly a point gained than points lost as at half time at Anfield we were dead and buried. Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace must be beaten though!
