'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kluivert Life-Line?

A player with so much talent, but one who always give the impression he 'couldn't care less'. He left St James' Park with a dig at Alan Shearer, saying Craig Bellamy was a far better player, but Michael Chopra also left Newcastle but couldn't resist a dig back at the Dutchman. 'I wish I was has emerged as a target for the Bundesliga side

'I wish I was given the chance at Newcastle that Kluivert had,' said Chopra. 'He never gave the impression he wanted to play for the club. Yet I wanted to play for Newcastle so much.'

Hamburg are pursuing a deal for the 29-year-old former Ajax and Barcelona man as a cut-price alternative to Aston Villa's Milan Baros. Kluivert, who also failed to impress at Valencia last season, is surplus to requirements and it was thought he could retire. But ... obviously not.

He should retire, he's been around for twelve seasons now and it's clear to see his desire has gone.
