Enlighten me - a plea from the ranks

Enlighten me - a plea from the ranks

Forgive me for feeling a bit negative this morning but I paid witness to one of our own score 2 goals for a rival team last night. The most expensive English player in history it was as well.

We on the other hand limp closer to the finish line with an attack as powder puff as they come with a subs bench that wouldn't look out of place at Torquay, such is the lack of depth and quality here.

Not to worry, some will say. We got a good deal for Andy Carroll, well news for them, a lump sum of £35 million doesn't run around the pitch very much or will have many attempts at goal. Money means nowt in the bank in football, its bodies on the pitch that matter.

Which brings me to my point, what hope have we got for the future when our stars are being sold or in the process of being for sale at the right price?

First Carroll, now Enrique looks likely to be gone, followed inevitably by Joey Barton. This may bring in a fund of £55 million plus but the lies and spin that follows, promises to undermine the ambition of fans with a tradition of supporting through thick and thin. The patience of whom will eventually snap if pushed too far.. Why are we selling our stars if we don't need the cash? What hope have we got for the future when morale will take a hit, each and every time?

This club is in the top 5 in England for turnover, Top 20 in Europe also.

ith the right person in charge, there's no reason why we can't be Top 3 here or Top 10 in Europe. Lack of ambition springs to mind. A club this size can never be a feeder club but that's what we are. Still the owner/Chairman have support from the majority at games and the majority of forums with those that rebel (on other forums) shouted down or drowned out with stories of why our club is 'run right these days'.

Even the local media churn out pro-stories and never ever question strange decisions with various former footballers also jumping on the bandwagon of bum-licking. Day after day we see stories that take the piss out of the club's greatest asset. So why are we being taking for mugs? Do they think everyone is thick?

We're not happy, we've got yet another 3rd rate 'manager' in charge of this massive business. You wouldn't get Paul Daniels running Harrods, so why should we put up with it?

Since Ashley has taken charge, we have spent around £63 million on transfers, with most of this in his first season. in that same time we have recouped close to £113 million. A £50 million profit so far.

orgetting wages in these figures as our other income hasn't been taken into consideration, so outcomes should be ignored here also.

I know various news pieces on forums and the like get ignored by people as 'not worth a light' etc but these are 'truer' than the rehearsed crap that spouts out of our officials mouths, with many contrasting pieces contradicting the statement before that, time and time again.

Even Pardew from the moment that AC was sold, said he will have the full £35 million to spend, followed not long after by a story saying that would include wages, followed by stories now where he hopes he'll get some money to spend this summer or that he has to plead for funds. The amount of players in the media talking about the lack of strength in depth in the squad plus players needed, grows by the day...

All isn't well at our club and don't let the figures fool you.

We had the basis of a good side. We had the potential to add to this and make it a very good side. With the right people in charge, who knows, it could have been the start of a brilliant era here but we haven't got the right people and the facts prove that.

My confidence in them is at an all time low and nothing i see in the future distracts from which players will be sold next..

Players brought in will have every one scratching their heads here and we all know it.

A football club can't be run like a sports warehouse where you buy cheap tat and pretend its quality.

In football, you get found out on day 1. in business it can take years.

We all know the score here, so why are we letting it happen time and time again? We can end this misery if we all get together and do something unless someone can tell us this way is working. So come on Enlighten me.........
