Luque Key To Beckham Deal?

Luque Key To Beckham Deal?

The Daily Mail has certainly put pressure on Freddy Shepherd to come up with a big signing, after saying the Toon chairman is trying to lure David Beckham to Tyneside by swooping for Ruud van Nistelrooy!

The van Nistelrooy story has been hanging around since April when it looked likely the Dutchman was on his way out of Old Trafford. But linking Becks to the story has certainly improved the sale of newspapers this weekend. But ... getting back to reality ... Beckham's agent denied on Friday that the former England captain had been in talks with Shepherd.

The only aspect giving the story any street cred is that Real Madrid ARE interested in £9million buy Albert Luque. But whether they would let their Golden Boy go to Newcastle take on a player who has been a total flop in the Premiership is pie in the sky.
