'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Who Killed The Game We Love

Who killed the game we love?

'Not me' said the club owner as he rubbed his hands together. 'I run a business. Football is a business. Don't ever forget that. Without my money there would be no football club. Be grateful I'm here at all'.

'Not me' said the leech of an agent. 'Football is a business and my client sells his commodity to the highest bidder. It's my job to represent the best interests of my client. Don't blame me'.

'Not me' said the greedy player. 'I love (insert name here) and want to stay here for the rest of mky career. If the club refuse to match my ambition (which is to earn my body weight in gold for each hour I draw breath) I will have no choice but to leave.'

'Not me' said the put upon stooge of a manager. 'I was called in here to do a job. I've had a word with Mike and he assures me 110% that I won't be selling Andy Carroll before this deadline. Or any other deadline for that matter. There's a great team spirit here and I'm starting to get them onside. Definitely. Kevin Nolan's a great lad, so is Joey Barton. They like me, I like them'.

Andy Carroll, another in a long line of those allowed to leave. Macdonald, Beardsley, Waddle, Gascoigne... ad nauseum.

And now I am.

but will the money that have got from the AC sale be given to the manager in the Summer?

Carroll can be replaced and is not worth 35m. So good business for the Club.

I'm heartbroken by this transfer. Andy Carroll was by far the best player to come through the ranks at St James's Park in a generation. The kind of mercurial natural homegrown talent that has been so sadly lacking since Paul Gascoigne emerged over a quarter of a century ago. Andy Carroll was destined to become a Newcastle United legend, one of our all time great number nines, right up there with the likes of Shearer, MacDonald and Milburn. So it is soul destroying to see all that thrown away, to see him leave at the age of only 21 having played less than 100 games for us, and all because of Fat Ashley's greed to line his own pocket.

For a brief moment he was the Premiership's most expensive player. Man City have never spent that amount before. He's a good player but you absolutely got the best end of the deal.

Who killed the game we love? Teams like you for demanding daft, pointlessly silly, utterly ludicrous money for players just because they are English. And then we wonder why the England team is overrated....
OLASAL
Olasal you say teams like us but you are forgetting Torres at 50 mill. The 35mill for Carroll would never have been paid if this deal had not gone ahead, in real terms Carroll was probably worth 15-20mill
