Newcastle Will Want Milner Back

Villa boss David O'Leary says he doesn't believe Villa will be able to keep on loan midfielder James Milner at the end of the season. Oh well, his loss is our gain!

O'Leary explained 'James is a good young player. Newcastle bought him for £5m which is a big spend on somebody. But they have got a player who will be very good for them for many years to come. I'm delighted they have given James to me for the year and I think I'll make him a better player for them. I've always rated James, I know about James. I think of him highly. I'd love to have him here but I don't think Newcastle will be letting him go. We are just grateful that we have him for the year.'

O'Leary also says - and he is certainly not short of self praise - 'How can I make Milner a better player? All-round. You know what James' strengths are, what he is good at and it's down to us to bring those qualities out. He is a fantastic boy to deal with. He loves his training, is a very fit boy and you just know what you are getting out of James. He is just a basic solid lad.'

He says 19 year old Milner 'is an outstanding young player'.

Looks like the readers of this site agree, in our poll 88% said that Milner should not be sold.
