Valuable Experience For Shearer

Alan Shearer could well be part of the new England management team put together by Steve McClaren.

The rumour has been rife for days now, but Shearer claims to know nothing about it.

Steve McClaren has asked Terry Venables to join him, and is understood he also wants the Newcastle legend.

Shearer: 'I have no idea where this has come from. It's news to me. Obviously it would interest me in the future. It's very flattering but I've not heard anything.'

Perhaps this could be a good thing for Newcastle, as the post would be part-time and it would give him valuable experience, for the day he becomes Newcastle boss.

It would indeed give him invaluable experience, especially in looking at the different ways we have to adapt to different styles. Will be great for you for when he eventually takes over ay newcastle.
