Boumsong Quick Return?

France threw away a 1-0 lead against South Korea in Leipzig on Sunday and had to make do with only a point, a result which means even victory over Togo in their final Group G game may not be enough to get them through to the knockout stages.

However, that could mean an early return for defender Jean-Alain Boumsong, who is yet to kick a ball in the tournament, boosting the Magpies' squad for their Intertoto Cup campaign.

Boumsong, like Craig Moore on duty with Australia, was not expected back on Tyneside until after a holiday following the World Cup. But should the French not make it, the 26-year-old could be available sooner than expected.

You appear to have a different opinion to most geordies and a hell of a lot of the rest of the country who watch football green giant. I think he's out of his depth in the premiership myself. Do you actually watch any premiership football mate?
