According to most media sources, Newcastle are still chasing a deal for Man City's Vladimir Weiss, but, is he really a player that we need right now...
20 Year old Weiss started his career at Inter Bratislava before joining Man City in 2006, joining up with their youth squad and having a decent run, including a goal against Chelsea in 2009 in the Youth Cup Final.
His senior career hasn't exactly gone to plan however, big money City have a lot of talent and Weiss found himself making way, he has made one start for the Blue part of Manchester, against Barcelona, this would be the highlight of his career so far, in front of a packed Nou Camp.
His first senior goal came in the Carling Cup win against Arsenal in December 2009, seemingly enough to show Man City that he was worth keeping as the following week Weiss signed a contract keeping him in Manchester until 2010.
January 2010 saw Vladimir loaned to Bolton until the end of the season and the player, although making mainly substitute appearances has been accreditted to helping Bolton survive their relegation battle, he made a total of 13 appearances for Bolton.
Our concern here is that, although I can understand Man City wanting to loan him out again, the player himself may be another midfielder who can't score goals, I know he hasn't exactly had a chance and Bolton last year were'nt exactly prolific as a whole, but right now, I personally feel we need players that have at least a decent goal scoring record.
Here's a short video of Weiss in action aganst the Czech Republic, looks good on video, but then Kevin Keegan heard that from another Wise...
Be interested to hear opinions from Bolton and Man City fans on Weiss, what do you think of the lad?
