Samaras In Toon Switch?

Reports in todays Daily Record suggest that Hughton is eyeing up a move for Celtic`s Georgios Samaras...

Samaras is rumoured to be on his way out of Celtic, the arrival of Neil Lennon allegedly signalling the end of Samaras' Parkhead stint.

The player is in his last year and Lennon is reported to want to cash in whilst he can.

Greek, Samaras would cost Newcastle approx £1.5m has played a total of 77 games including his initial loan from Man City, scoring 30 goals in that time.

Maybe not a name that we were thinking about, but perhaps our standards should be lowered and realism needs to kick in.

I wouldnt see that as a bad signing to be honest. Fair enough he may not be the best player out there but I see him as an improvement to what we have.

Joint top scorer last season, at Celtic...

Lads no harm to Sammy, but he is very much a form player. Sometimes the big man is unplayable when his confidence is flying!! other times his touch and overall play is outrageous! As i say will score goals for you when on form but if under pressure can deffo be found wanting!! Might just be the pressure of playing at Celtic though as in them or us winning league, but then fair bit pressure playing in front of you lads also!! G'luck next season and hope yes stay up!

They called him tragedy at Man City, right?!?
ken_nufc
He's been called worse up at Parkhead sir!
MickDoire
haha, when he went to you lot I thought he was going to be brilliant, dont see him doing it in the Prem now to be honest!
ken_nufc
he will score against your mid table teams in the prem no worries, but against your top teams he'll struggle as probably **** himself! Goodluck to him anyway, wouldnt be gutted to see him leave especially if your giving us £1+m (mind you only if we dont sign this fud from Sunderland Murphy with the dough!) G'luck
MickDoire
Dont sign anyone from Sunderland, you're only putting money in an already disastrous area!
ken_nufc
hahahaha well said ken!
