Will Jonas Provide Cover For Simpson

Jonas Gutierrez has admitted to being 'comfortable' playing as a full back for his country, so can he provide cover for the injured Danny Simpson.

Although Jonas didn't exactly set the pulse racing with his performance for Argentina, it is possibly good news for us NUFC fan's in that he is, at least, comfortable playing in the position.

Simpson will miss the first four or five games of our Premier League campaign, which means that the 'utility' player, Ryan Taylor will drop in at full back.

I for one, have no faith in Taylor at all, I didn't think he was good enough in the Championship and I think he will struggle back in the Premier League. Of course, we might see Steven Taylor slot in at full back...something to think about there.

Jonas, whilst I like him and I think both him and Enrique make a great partnership on the left, he often frustrates with his lack of final ball, and poor finishing.

I don't profess to know in what position or who Chris Hughton wants to strengthen, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see another left sided player come in, obviously a loan deal, or a free transfer, but, we don't have much cover on the left, so regardless, we need it.

We also need a few quid too, so if anyone fancies a game, please send your emails to me here. I promise to pass your money to Big Mike, or, why not just sign up the forum and tell us you would like to see sign for NUFC.
