Milner Bid Expected Soon

If Aston Villa boss David O'Leary thinks the deal for James Milner is cut and dried, he can forget it.

Not only is Glenn Roeder having second thoughts about selling the ex-Leeds winger, but Bolton and Wigan have joined the race to sign him.

According to The Journal, Glenn Roeder has yet to make up his mind on the 20-year-old's future, but interest from the two north-west clubs, also battling it out for Palace striker Andy Johnson, could spark a bidding war, thus forcing Roeder's hand.

Milner has been on loan at Villa Park and has said he would be delighted to sign for the Midlands club, but he also insists he has no gripe with Newcastle and would be happy to stay if he was given first team football. Obviously something Roeder cannot guarantee.
