Toon Player Decides To Stay

United defender Craig Moore has back-tracked and said he WILL be back at Newcastle next season. The player was signed by Graeme Souness, but said at Christmas he saw his future back in Australia.

However, it just goes to show the difference in the changing room since the appointment of Glenn Roeder as manager. He now wants to stay.

Moore and Australia are set to take on Brazilian Samba Boys Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Adriano and Robinho in what will be the ultimate test of any footballer's career. The 30-year-old Aussie, who played the last nine games for United after missing most of the Premiership season with hamstring injuries, insists he has nothing to prove to the club or the fans.

Moore: 'I am looking forward to going back to Newcastle next season, and if I have an out-of-this-world time it's possible I might be able to extend my contract. But I can see myself returning to Australia in 2007 and going to live on the Gold Coast.

'I'm not out to prove anything to anybody at Newcastle. I know what I offer the team - and I know that if I'm fit I should be playing.'
