Faye On The Move To Pompey?

Although Nicky Butt looks set to return to Newcastle next season, the United midfield could be thread bare if Turkish international Emre gets his wish and returns to Italy, Lee Bowyer returns to London, Kieron Dyer gets the thumbs down from his surgeon, James Milner joins Aston Villa, and Amdy Faye moves back to Portsmouth.

Are United in a position to off-load Amdy Faye? He hasn't settled at the club and has failed to win over the Toon support. But would he be the answer to a few problems?

Faye was signed by former manager Graeme Souness as a holding midfielder in a £2m switch from the South-Coast, and Pompey want the 28-year-old to return to Fratton Park.

On the plus side: Charles N'Zogbia has signed a new contract and South Africa-born Matty Pattison is tipped for the top.
