Beckford confirms move to Newcastle United

Beckford confirms move to Newcastle United

Newcastle United have landed highly-rated Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford for a fee of £2 million, reports Goal.com.

The 26-year-old goal-scoring sensation has been in stellar form for the League One side, and it is understood that the Magpies were chasing him since last January.

'I'm off to Newcastle United,' he told Goal.com UK.

The website also reveals that the Toon had two previous bids rejected, while the third was submitted today.

Either club is yet to confirm, but news reports around England suggest an announcement is forthcoming.

A bargain if the fee is only £2m, no a steal at that price.

With all this poor weather we are having.Could be the opporunity to get some of the injured back to full fitness. Should we have a winter break?

From what I have seen of him he can be anything he wants to be. There is nodoubt he has an eye for finishing but sometimes appears a bit lazy.

I'm confident Beckford will play for Newcastle by the end of Jan. If he doesnt then we have missed out.

Premier League, I remember it clearly and the best thing that ever happened to our club was to be relegated as it got rid of all the d*cks that didn’t want to play for us, loyal fans deserve loyal players. As for him being linked to Premier League clubs, that is not news anymore that is history...Beckford will wear the Newcastle shirt by the end of January, I’m still confident.
