Pancrate on Hughton's plate

Following an impressive impact against Hartlepool Reserves earlier in the week, Fabrice Pancrate has certainly made an impression on Chris Hughton. Our current gaffer spoke up regarding the chances of signing him full time. He said:

He did well. We really wanted to see him in a game, so we gave him the opportunity.

He will be training with us for the next few days and that will give us a chance to have a real good look at him.

We already have great quality on the right-hand side with Ryan Taylor, Jonas [Gutierrez] and Danny Guthrie, but he could offer us something different with his pace.

His biggest asset is his experience - he's played in a couple of positions, is good on the ball, works hard and I enjoyed watching him.'

Indeed with quite a static midfield the team has been crying out for a bit of speed and trickery out on the wings. The move seems to be a good one for both parties and hopefully we can get the lad on a deal until the end of the season when we can reassess.
