Hughton`s Campbell denial
With Sol Campbell having claimed he`d be interested in signing for Newcastle, Chris Hughton has quickly popped the balloon on that one by issuing quite a quick denial. With the Daily Telegraph claiming Campbell`s financial demands were still astronomical and a total turn off to Newcastle, Hughton has come out and said:
"There is no truth in this whatsoever. The first I heard about it was when it was on the television in the morning. We are looking elsewhere and it is an ongoing thing. Sol is an excellent player but there is nothing happening regarding him coming to Newcastle."
Seems a pretty firm snub to me.
