It's not been the ideal week for Danny Guthrie. Missing gilt edged chances from the penalty spot v QPR and against Bristol City as the club squandered four eminently winnable points, our midfielder commented on the run that has got us top, but leaves us with little breathing space in the coming games. Guthrie said:
'Going into the international break, we have a three-point gap. It's a nice feeling, but it could have been five if we had just nicked a goal. We have had a couple of draws at home, which is disappointing. We played well on Saturday - we didn't play so well against QPR.
We are always expected to win, but we are not going to win every game. But the most important thing is we didn't lose and we kept the gap.
Marlon said it was a stonewaller - he took his standing leg,' he said. Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't and we move on. Hopefully we will get one we don't deserve.
I was still on penalty taking. I wanted to put things right if I was given the chance. I was about to run up to the ball. I thought the referee was going to blow, but he didn't. Hopefully next time.'
