'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shearer To Enter Politics?

British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Newcastle United fan, paid tribute Monday to Alan Shearer on Monday.

And judging by the latest 5 point drop in popularity announced this week, Blair could do with Shearer in something similar to the Roeder-Shearer partnership at St James' Park.

Blair: 'I should say for the purposes of the record that I think he's been a fantastic servant for Newcastle United and is a great player and a great man.'

Asked if there were any lessons he could draw from Shearer's decision to call it a day before his planned retirement, Blair said: 'My knees are fine. My knees are in great working order.'

Sadly Shearer was not available to pay any tribute to Tony Blair.

lol, Good article, and without getting too political. I think he'd do a better job.
