Hughton`s Hope - no more exits

Having guided the team to three wins and a draw in the opening four game, Chris Hughton has spoken of his hope that the necessary asset stripping of the club`s best players has finally come to a close. Having seen ten exits and with another three mooted, our caretaker coach said:

"I am hoping we don`t lose any more players. Everybody here and the supporters are hoping that.
"That will be determined in the next week, but I am hopeful. You look towards the end of the window and the areas we need to strengthen.

We are not so far off. There`s no doubting the quality here - the decision we have to make is whether it`s enough to compete. New players have very much been thought of, but there`s still a week and a bit to go.

We knew it was going to be a tough game today with the manager they have here and their style of play. We knew we would have to play well in every department, and I thought we were worthy winners.

Whatever the situation at the football club, the aim is to get back into the Premier League. And the players know that if they don`t show enough attitude and application, they face a long, hard season, but I cannot fault them."
