Takeover announcement to be made on Monday
Newcastle United are understood to be readying preparations to make an official announcement on the takeover of the club on Monday, according to The Independent.
Even if the club is sold to local businessman Barry Moat on Friday afternoon, the official announcement could take at least the weekend, it is thought.
The newspaper also claims that if negotiations go beyond Monday, Mike Ashley would take the club off the market, and stay another year in charge of the Magpies.
