Seb exit confirmed

Just confirmation from the Spurs Official Site regarding the completed deal for Seb Bassong:

'We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Newcastle United for the transfer of Sebastien Bassong to the Club, following the player successfully completing a medical examination and agreeing personal terms.

The defender moved to St James' Park in July 2008 from Metz where he made 79 appearances in three seasons.

The 23-year-old played 34 times for Newcastle last season in his debut campaign in the Premier League.'

Still no fixed idea on the fee - press reports are going for £8m basic with add ons potentially making it up to £12m.

Still, not a bad profit. Not sure where the money is going like. If it goes back into the club then thats at least £17m for transfers then!!!

Just had a thought. I would have asked 'arry for some of the fringe players on loan. They have loads of full backs which we have none!!

The greedy ******** Mike Ashley is, I assume that won’t be going back into the club...that will be in his bank account.

sfosteruk - sadly it wont be going into a transfer pot. It'll keep the club in the black for about 3 months with the current wage bill (circi £5m per month). Ashley wont invest before he sells the club, all we can hope for is a sale of the club with enough time for transfers before the window closes.
