£10m for Bassong rejected - are we mad?

The media types are roundly reporting today that we have rejected a staggering £10m bid for Seb Bassong from Spurs. Knocking back such a huge figure for the Frenchman seems completely absurd given his two sendings off last season and the fact he still is 'raw potential' material.

Either the club expect Man City to come in or they are going for something beyond realistic expectations in £12m. Hopefully something will be resolved sooner rather than later.

Vote in the poll and guess the final figure our Frenchie will go for. Comments welcome below...

Once again the Chairman of the barcodes has shown his judgement is**** poor when it comes to football matters

I think they will get the 12m they want for him.

With City getting Lescott now he's been left out of the Everton friendly v Coventry we can't play Russian Roulette on this one. Take it and run - it's already £4m more than I'd pay if I was buying him.

I hope we don't come back with a larger offer! Seems a huge fee for a young defender imo. Loks a good player but that's an inflated valuation imo.

Definitely WAyne - he's still got a hell of a lot to learn. But given the silly money being bandied about it has inflated the market.

i wouldn't pay more then 8million for him but more realistically he is worth around 6million.

It would be a good return on a £1.5 millon purchase 12 months ago

This sounds like a paper filler article. Don't believe it. If someone really did offer 10m, we'd accept it.
