Steven Taylor came out after the 7-2 demolition of Darlington and commented on how much closer the team is during the pre-season training camp in Dublin. Rumours of impromptu midnight sneak outs probably helped significantly in the bonding stakes, with friendships confirmed over a few pints of the black stuff. The defender said:
'The fans at this moment probably think the club is a shambles and the players haven't got a clue what is going on. They probably think we are fighting in training. But with us, it is completely different and I just wish they could even spend one day just looking at the training ground and the way we are going on with each other.
It's a much better team-bonding. We are just thinking about one game at a time. We have got West Brom as our first game and we have just got to win that game. I don't care how ugly it gets, we need to get the result we need, and that's all we are going to look for.'
