'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Duff backing Chuckle Brothers

Breaking rank again, another player has spoken out at the current situation at Newcastle. However, rather than the recent backbiting, Damien Duff has offered some praise for the two current incumbents of the hot seat, Messers Calderwood and Hughton, a.k.a. Barry and Paul Chuckle. Duff told the club's official website:

'Chris and Colin have been thrown in at the deep end but they are totally focused on the job. They are two great guys and all the lads respect them.

They have put on a tough pre-season but it's been good and I'm sure we'll reap the rewards of that. Its difficult circumstances but they are both very professional and the players respect them for that.

Of course we'd like to see the situation sorted but for the time being we all have to be professional and get on with the job of preparing for the new season.'

I guess if you keep picking up a huge salary you'd praise anyone!
