Taunted and tainted one backs Shearer
Apparently Owen has passed off his £41m sabbatical at NUFC as nothing more than a bit of a bad spell. Speaking out following his move to Man Utd, the horse fanatic halfwit added:
"I have probably taken more stick in the last couple of years than I have in my career and there are lot of people out there that can be quite bitter or nasty. Sometimes you feel like you are almost a criminal the amount of stick you get, but as a footballer you always get the last chance to go out there and prove what you can do.
I have had a frustrating few years and it is disappointing that Newcastle have been relegated. But I have played 33 games and 32 games for Newcastle over the past two seasons and we were not in Europe and didn`t go far in any of the cups.'
Once again Owen manages to stretch the facts to the furthest point. Of those alleged 65 games, how many of them was he fit for and how many did he actually start?
Meanwhile Britain's 2nd most marketable footballer has backed Alan Shearer to be the next boss saying:
'Hopefully Alan will obviously keep the job, take the job and it'll start coming back for them. I know him well. I like him as a friend as well. Even just in the few weeks that he took over everyone can see that there's something there and he'll be a success in management.
He'll be great for Newcastle to have. He's got a real feeling and passion for the club and that's what they need at this time.'
