Airline denies NUFC interest
Following the news that the Malaysian consortium has had the ground tour and seen the players in action, the news of an £80m bid was suggested to be part funded by Air Asia. However the low cost airline today denied that they were interested.
The airline's CEO Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes said:
'We are not either directly or indirectly part of the said Malaysian-led consortium intending to purchase Newcastle United. We deny any involvement whatsoever.'
