Turfs up for Eddie

Turfs up for Eddie

Following a stop-start career at NUFC, David Edgar has signed a four year deal with Premier League newcomers Burnley. The Canadian joins Owen Coyle's revolution as the Turf Moor side aim to do a Stoke / Hull and survive in the big show.

For Newcastle, we lose a defender who could really have made a mark in the Championship. Edgar's representatives described as our contract offer to the lad as 'nothing much at all' and fair play to the youngster for wanting another pop at the top flight.

To be fair, Eddie must have felt severely disheartened to find himself playing fiddle to the likes of Coloccini and good luck to the lad in future. I doubt any of us will forget his screamer against Man Utd in the 2-2 New Years Day draw.

I think this guy is someone you should have tried harder to keep.

Agreed, think he would have been at his natural level and would have done really well if he played at centre half.
