'If It's Football, It's Vital'

O'Neill Rubbish!

The media are on the story that the FA have Martin O'Neill as No1 target for the up-coming England managerial post, but that seems far from the truth the way we see it.

O'Neill will be at St James' Park as manager in the summer ... unless Smoggy boss Steve McClaren turns down the England job.

Freddy Shepherd knows the score, and will wait to see the outcome. It's not ideal, because the Irishman could have made good use of the remaining matches as the season grinds to a halt.

Shepherd is stuck between a 'rock and hard place' at the moment. Knowing full well the fans will want his head if he gets it wrong again!
