A week has passed since Ashley "officially" put the club up for sale for £100m and we are still no further forward. The fixtures for next season are released tomorrow and by then we will know whom we are playing but not who will be playing them.
We have no manager and a chairman who either can`t be bothered or is taking his sweet time selling the club. We have a bunch of players that want out and don`t want a season in the second tier of English football.
Also we have a whole host of season tickets that are just sitting on the shelf gathering dust at the ticket office, as no one wants one bar the painstakingly loyal and the simple minded. I have read that a season ticket holder travels from Kazakhstan to every home game (Ed - Borat?) which takes him 3 days to get here - now that`s loyalty. Now he says he is not sure if he wants to renew.
Nevermind that, we will have the biggest stadium in the Fizzy Pop League, but by the looks of it will we will have the most empty seats in the league. If something is not done ASAP we are going to miss out on players for next season. Beckford from Leeds is one that springs to mind as a possible target that will be snapped up once clubs return to pre-season training next week.
I for one hope that all this is being sorted out in the background and will be resolved before next week.
