'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shepherding the Flock?

Once again the speculation has mounted in the afternoon tattle columns that everyone's favourite Benton streetfighter Freddy Shepherd is to act as the figurehead a takeover bid in the region of £75m from foreign investors.

Reports in the Ronnie also say that Mr Shepherd has met Alan Shearer shortly after he returned to Tyneside from a short break in Portugal at the old La Sagesse school in Jesmond, Newcastle, which Shepherd bought a few months ago.

Obviously it has not been made public knowledge what was said but it could only be one thing, as Shepherd wants Shearer to be in charge when the mystery consortium launches their takeover bid. So with both The Profitable Group and Shepherd wanting Shearer to be in charge hopefully it is only a matter of time until something is made public knowledge.

The sooner the better, with just a week until our roaring Championship fixtures against the likes of Plymouth and Barnsley are released and only two weeks until pre-season training starts.
