'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bougherra puts the boot in

Having been linked with a £3m move for Madjid Bougherra in January, it has been revealed today that the player did turn down the approach from the club for him. Bougherra justified this with the fact he has a double of medals this season, instead of a relegation on his record. The defender said:

'Newcastle made an offer for me but I took the right decision to stay with Rangers. I felt they are the right club for me. I did not want to make the same mistake I made two years ago when I left Sheffield Wednesday for Charlton.

I knew that I was going to win something with Rangers and that there would be the Champions League for me at the end. So I've got absolutely no regrets about staying. The Rangers fans have welcomed me with open arms - they love me and I love them too.'

Ouch.

Fair play to the bloke, can't criticise his choice.
