'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Takeover Talks / No Shearer decision

So hours after Mike Ashley issued his grand apology to the fans, word broke on Sky Sports that he is once again in talks regarding a prospective consortium taking the club over.

This one is quite bizarre. He's sat there with Derek Labia in 16 hours worth of talks so far with Alan Shearer, allegedly thrashing out the future of the club, but on the other hand the 'not for sale' club is seemingly back on the market. Why waste the Lion's time?

The Chronicle is this evening reporting that talks have ended without any resolution today, although there are allegedly another round scheduled for tomorrow.

Quite what Shearer makes of this is a mystery, but given Allardyce came in under one ownership and got unceremoniously ditched 24 games later under a new one, hardly spells the sort of stability our former number nine has called for.

More on this as we get it.

He's a total weasel - really doesn't know how to deal with people at all. No wonder he's a recluse.
