Relegation Clear Out: Oba to Florence?

Early news on the clearout front sees Obafemi Martins being linked with a move back to Italy. Our current number nine began his career with Inter Milan and has spent a lot of time this season jetsetting back and forth to Italy to see his personal physician, much to ours and Nigeria's consternation.

La Nazione says Fiorentina sports chief Pantaleo Corvino sees the Nigeria international as an ideal foil for centre-forward Alberto Gilardino.

No details of fee or supplementary quotes, nor whether any move by La Viola may smoke out the likes of Wenger into making a bid.

As long as the money is good that we get and he gets it'll be a winner. They look set to finish 4th in Serie A if they can get a point v Milan at home, or not lose by say more than a goal. Should be money to spend in they finish in the CL.

This is a massive mistake, we already lack quality and selling martins can only make things worse. Forget the pound signs, they are not what the club needs to get back up into the premier league, its quality. Get rid of Owen he is ****e.

There's no way that Martins has the loyalty or intent to stay with us in the Championship. Even when Arsenal were linked with him he was getting itchy feet, let alone after what's happened now. Cash in on him, hopefully via a bit of a bidding war with the likes of Athletico / Fiorentina / Arsenal to get maximum brass.
