'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rob Lee joined by John Carver at new-look Magpies

Former FC Toronto coach John Carver has returned to Tyneside and is set to join Newcastle United as head-coach in the coming weeks. Carver was a popular figure during the Kenny Dalglish, and Sir Bobby Robson days, and is Alan Shearer's preferred man to lead the United backroom staff for next season.

Former player Rob Lee also joins the Toon in a coaching role, and is being tipped to be Shearer's assistant next season.

This spells the end of first-team coaches Colin Calderwood and Chris Hughton, who are both expected to part company with the club by next week.

I always thought that Rob Lee would make a good toon coach.

He'll be in. Just been biding his time.
