United lose to Villa - Relegation confirmed

Newcastle United played their final game in the Premier League for the next one year after losing to 1-0 Aston Villa, and getting relegated in the process.

It has been 16 years since the club won promotion to the top-flight, and it has been almost six years since they have been in Europe.

As a result of the drop, United will lose in excess of almost $150 dollars in television, sponsorship, and added revenue which will skyrocket the club into oblivion.

No one expects Newcastle United to come straight back into the Premier League next season, and no one expects the name Newcastle United to be associated with the top-flight in the next few years. Wish they would surprise everyone and prove the nay-sayers wrong.

Yep one little point, but that beautiful little point has doomed you. 50,000 seat capacity stadium with 10% being filled next season.

Commiserations to the Toon, we City fans know what it's like to be a huge club with fantastic fans, yet playing the likes of Scunthorpe. Still, there is one chink of light in the gloom - at least the Boro went down with you!
