Newcastle Utd relegated from the Premier League

Newcastle United were defeated 1-0 by Martin O'Neill's Aston Villa at Villa Park, and were relegated from the Premier League.

Despite losing to Manchester United, Hull City did enough to keep their Premier League badges. North-East rivals Middlesbrough join Newcastle United in the Coca Cola Championship.

Thank you for tuning in fans and non-fans. It has been a terrible season, and the club deserved to be relegated.

The 17th richest club in the world has gone down. The 17th richest club in the world has been relegated. St. James' Park will be visited by Coventry City, Derby, and Plymouth.

Alan Shearer has not achieved what he came to achieve. No sir, he has not. But at least Mike Ashley is on his way out of the club.

Unlucky. I feel very sorry for you, having your club messed around with by the likes of Ashley. However, although I know it's difficult to see through the sadness, there is an opportunity emerging for you. If Ashley leaves, and he probably will, and you keep some of your better players (not necessarily the biggest names in your squad) you have the chance to rediscover your old way of playing the game, playing with more freedom, and less pressure. The next couple of seasons will be crucial for you, but I still think you have a big future in the Prem. Good luck.

Im a villa fan with a soft spot for the toon, I always enjoy our night up the toon when we go, but I must say your lads didnt seem to play like a team with who wanted it bad enough to stay up. good luck next season.
