Shearer convinced the Toon will survive (AUDIO)
Alan Shearer says he's convinced the club will secure their Premier League safety this weekend. The Magpies are currently in the relegation zone, one point behind Hull City and two points adrift of fierce rivals Sunderland.
Their destiny lies at Villa Park this 'Survival Sunday', where they need to better Hull's result in order to avoid the drop.
Shearer commented: 'I'm totally convinced we'll get out of it. More importantly so do my players.' Although he will have to do it without the services of both Habib Beye and Sebastian Bassong, injured and suspended respectively.

Good think he's convinced. He has to be or else there'd be no point in even trying. The only way you'll survive is to show some belief. The talent at Newcastle is far better than the bottom three.
