'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shepherd returns to his flock?

It`s been rumbling on for a while but the Sunday Sun today has again ran news of a potential Freddie Shepherd as figurehead takeover by the club. Both American and overseas investors have been mentioned as potential backers for Fat Fred`s Machiavellian plans to once again rule on Tyneside.

Ashley finds himself in a position whereby his survival is intricately linked to our own Premier League status. If we survive then his gamble to bring in Shearer will probably save his own hide, with the recession hardly offering would be buyers encouragement.

On the other hand if we go down then the widespread protests will surely cripple Ashley so much financially he`ll have no alternative to go. The infamous insider said:

"Shepherd and his fellow investors have been closely monitoring Newcastle`s position, and know there would be two prices for the club, depending on whether they stay up or go down. But the people we are talking about would be able to finance a deal given either scenario. And their intention is to provide funding to keep Alan Shearer at Newcastle. The people Shepherd has spoken to are in a different financial league."

Relegated and doomed for bankrupcy some of the best words ever associated with Newcastle.
