'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre Fulham: Nolan

After what looked to be his best game in a Newcastle shirt so far, Kevin Nolan has outlined the need for a repeat performance against the tricky Fulham side we face at the weekend. With seventh place to play for, the Cottagers are a difficult proposition, with little known over whether it`ll be the Villa thumping side that turns up, or last season`s away day nightmares. Nolan said:

"It`s about this club being in the best league in the world. This club deserves to be in the league, and we all believe, come Saturday, we`ll put another performance in like we did (against Boro), and we`ll get the result we need.

It`s absolutely massive for us now. The last time we won was against West Brom, which was a long, long time ago. We didn`t follow that up with another win, but we`ve got two home games back to back, and we`ve managed to win one of them.

We`ve got Fulham - who aren`t going to be pushovers - but they`re not great away from home. They have started to pick up points of late, so we know it`s going to be a tough game. Any team who comes here is going to want to play. They`re going to want to play on that pitch in front of that crowd, so it`s going to be tough. They`ve got no pressure on them, but we`ve got a lot of pressure on us."
